If you read "My Story" you will see where my love for Halloween came from. Once I was hooked, trick or treating was no longer an option for me. As Halloween approached the following year I began to cut and paint cardboard tombstones, I learned how to stretch cotton cobwebs on our front porch and olive trees and I changed the out outdoor lights to colors and the porch light to a blacklight bulb. My mom hosted a party one evening during October and I offered to sit on the porch in a ghoulish costume as if I were a statue and scare her guests as they approached. That experience was the second "nail in the coffin" solidifying my joy for this incredible holiday. After years of decorating my home haunt I wanted more. I joined the local Jaycees who operated a very large attraction in my hometown. As an adult I joined a variety of charity organizations where we raised money by producing seasonal haunts.

Years later I owned and operated a party rental business that included bounce houses. When I thought about the waste in time and materials every year, building and tearing down a not for profit haunted house, I thought there must be a better way.  I took that technology from the inflatable industry and adapted it to my needs to create the first ever inflatable haunted house.  We began manufacturing and selling those over twenty years ago, they were called ScAir Structures. We later began renting these ScAir Structures out during the Halloween season for private parties and corporations.  It was a very successful endeavor and the start of my full time Halloween business.

One year a rental customer was so impressed he wanted to become a partner in ScAir Structures. After a couple years we decided instead to start a new venture, an even better mobile, rentable haunted house inside of large trailers. We called them Terror Trucks. Since our first one, Buried Alive,  in 2012 we have built many more for customers all over the country including ones for the entertainment industry. Our Cold Storage Terror Truck was at Comic Con in Las Vegas and has been rented by celebrities and large corporations. We even took part in a couple television pilots about our business for Discovery and Fear Net. We still operate Cold Storage today and annually make changes and upgrades for our Halloween fans.

Over the years Grandpa Scary has built and sold attractions to customers all over the country and as far as the Mall of Dubai. Including the Black Bayou Terror Truck, Dark Hollow ScAir Structure, the Ghoulish Gallery photo op attraction and many more. A few years ago many of our props / photo ops were used in the Adam Sandler movie Hubie Halloween.

Currently Grandpa Scary and our company, HallowEve Designs, is focused on operating our Flagship Terror Truck that is going through some big changes for next season and working on developing fun and informative content for our social media. I hope you will follow us on this chilling adventure....
